Does peaches and pears have a particular meaning in English as in He got angry for peaches and pears.

My first suspicion is Cockney rhyming slang, but I haven't heard that one.

'Apples and pears' is Cockney for 'stairs', which still doesn't make sense here.

<edit> Some Googling shows that 'peaches and pears' is another substitute for 'apples and pears' to mean stairs, but I still don't see the connection to angry.

However, I have a hard time making the connection to about 90% of Cockney slang. Confused
