Hello,

please let me know which is correct and why, and is there any differences in use of NOT AS...AS and NOT SO....AS.

The movie isn't as good as the book / The movie isn't so good as the book.

thanks.

Hi Penuel,

In your example, 'as good as' is correct.. "The movie isn't as good as the book." (By the way, I've found this to be true about 99% of the time!)

'As good as' is the phrase used for comparing two things.

"good/not so good" can be used to describe a particular thing, (The movie isn't so good), but not for comparison.
