Unfair treatment iBT TOEFL®

Hey,

A month after I took the iBT TOEFL ETS advised me that they were not able to score my speaking section. This was caused by the nonexistent dividers and the little room, which was full of people taking the test and especially the speaking section at the same time. So they had echos and other voices on the audio sequence.

And now ETS want me to take the entire test again. This is completely unacceptable, I think. I made the suggestion that they should ask a professional sound engineer for repairing the sequence. I do not want to pay for their mistakes and to spend more time and nerves on this. But obviously their customer service is not willing to answer me any more (8 days) and help me with my problem and the extremely unfair treatment.

This is really urgent, because I have to make applications to universities right now. I do not know what to do in this frustrating situation.

Are you sure that they're asking you to repay to retake the test? That doesn't sound right.

Due to technical difficulties, they do sometimes have to ask candidates to re-test, but not at the candidate's expense.

They may be asking you to retest, but that doesn't necessarily mean you have to repay. That doesn't solve the time and nerves issue, but I'd be very surprised if they're actually asking to to re-pay.
