college or university?

Hello everybody, I am new in this forum and I have a question already, Could you explain me the difference between college and university? Thanks a lot.

Regarding your Question : University consists of a group of colleges may be also called schools for ex :

university of ..... , college of law , college of medicine or whatever ..

Thanks ,but I think threre is more in that,I mean ,some people told me that university has higher rank than college.Anything about that?
