hi everybody,
I practiced on your lesson about “introduction’’ and I will like to know if I did well . Thank you for your feed-back.
1. Topic/Question: If you had a choice, would you like to live forever? Explain why this does or does not appeal to you.
Thesis:
Idea of “forever living” excited the human kind under two antagonist points of view: through alchemy and philosophy as the absolute discovery and through religious adepts as a blasphemy.
2. Topic: Students attend a University or college for a variety of reasons. In your opinion, what should be the main purpose of a University education?
Thesis: Attending a university is a big advantage, especially because of the knowledge and the horizon that opens in front of a student.
3. Topic: When many people think of the United States, words such as “independent” and “free-spirited” come to mind. If you had to describe your country by its personality, what trait(s) would best describe it?
Thesis: Thinking about the American personality as “independent” and “free-spirits” is just a point of view. From the same point of view, talking about Romanian, I can bring words like “hospitality”, “having fun” and “status culture”
4. Topic: Most people experience at least some degree of culture shock when they are getting accustomed to a new culture. What advice would you give to a friend of yours to help him get over culture shock? (You may write about your own culture or about the American culture.)
Thesis: There is no doubt that the contacts with a new culture produce a shock. How big this shock would be depends about how similar with the new culture is your culture and how many cultures have you met before.
5. Topic: It is necessary to be wealthy in order to be successful. Do you agree with this statement? Why or why not.
Thesis: To be wealthy is certainly an advantage but is this synonym with being also successful? In my opinion being rich does not mean being successful for two main reasons: being born in a rich family does not necessary make that person also successful and are many examples of successful people that are not necessarily rich. |
