TOEFL® essay: Choose friend similar to yourseft or different from yourseft?

Topic : Some people choose friends who are different from themselves. Others choose friends who are similar to themselves. Which kind of friend do you prefer for yourself? Why?

Friends plays an important role in one's life. Your friends affect your life style, fashion style, habits and thoughts. In my life, I like to make friends similar to myself. We will have the same interests and ideas. Friendship with similar people are easy and predictable and also they are really helpful for my future.

First of all, I believe friends with similar interests, habits and ideas are always better. We can share our knowledge with each other. We can play sports together. I and my friends both like Information Technology. When there is new great software occurring, they tells me about it and vice versa. We help each other progress. Since friendship with people having same interests with me has an educational profit, I prefer making friends with this kind of people.

Additionally, friendship with people similar to myself is easy and predictable. We often go places together and enjoy many of same pursuits. For instance, I and my intimate friends often play tennis on Sunday morning, go to Chinese restaurant for lunch. We are like a family. Time we spend together is totally happy. Moreover, I can easily guest what they like and what they are not into. Therefore, we seldom have conflict between us.

And finally, Having friends similar to myself is really helpful for me if I have any trouble in the future. Image that if you have difficulties in your work and your friends who do not have the same interests and knowledge of your field will not be able to understand clearly what you are talking about, they can not give you any good advice. On the other hand, friends who have the knowledge of your field will give you the best suggestion to help you overcome any obstacle.

In conclusion, Friends similar with myself provide me educational benefit, happiness and best help when i need. Therefore, needless to say, I believe that my preference for choosing this kind of friend is totally reasonable.
