A COMPANY HAS ANNOUNCED THAT IT WISHES TO BUILD A LARGE FACTORY IN YOUR COMMUNITY. DISCUSS THE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES. DO YOU SUPPORT OR OPPOSE THE FACTORY? EXPLAIN YOUR POSITION.
Construction of a new factory in a community is a sign of development and progress; it is a symbol of a flourishing economy, and it takes a lot of time to get all the authorizations to build it. Some people disagree with new constructions in their communities, as this will lead to a greater degree of pollution in that particular area. On the other hand, people living in smaller towns or rural areas generally are more likely to approve the building of a factory in their region. Personally, I live in a big town that has many industrial units, and pollution has been a significant issue for my beautiful hometown for a long time, now; as a consequence, I disagree with a new plant construction in my community.
A new edifice construction brings many disadvantages with it. First, during its assembling there will be a lot of noise, dust, and traffic congestion in the area, leading to complains and disapproval of the people living in that community. Second, to build the foundation of a new building, one has to cut the trees in order to prepare the ground, leading to a large area without the green protection against pollution. Third, after the construction is built, the area will be more crowded and noisy, the traffic will increase, and all of these will enhance the pollution of the town and affect the environment.
However, a new industrial unit will stimulate the economy of that particular area, creating new jobs and opportunities for the inhabitants of that city. Another advantage is that a new factory will also encourage the education and preparation of youth and will keep them in town, by creating a wide range of job opportunities. In addition, if the factory is productive, this will determine a sense of self-esteem of the people living in the community.
In conclusion, there are many aspects that have to be discussed before deciding to build a new industrial unit in a town. There are many advantages and disadvantages of creating a new plant. I personally, disagree with the building of a new factory in a big town, with an already great degree of pollution. |
