He put his foot on the banana peel and flicked it into the gutter to his right.

Can someone please tell me if the above sentence sounds natural? Is the usage of flick fine here? Can you think of any better alternatives?

Dear Daemon99:

To "flick" as a verb is used to indicate slight movement as in "to flick (remove) an ash/dirt (any small/minute item) from the cloth or dress". Its similar to "brushing off a dirt from your dress". It indicates a very slight movement to brush off something. Flick as a noun is also means movie.

In your sentence you said " He used his right foot to flick the banana peel to the gutter to his right". It would be better to state " He kicked the banana peel to the gutter to his right." It is simple and direct.
