Hello everybody here! Can you tell me what this phrase means: Our support is second to none. Does it mean that the support is very good? Thank you all!

Yes, you're right. It really means you are the best/the first because you are not in second place to anyone.

No, no!

'Second to none' means the same as second to nil.
In other words, the support is almost as good as if they provided no support at all! :D

So, I would not advice to deal with any company that is famous of such 'second-to-none' support.

Hi,

An interesting comment but unfortunately not logical. None is short for no-one and doesn't mean nil or nothing. It therefore follows that second to none means in second place to no-one and that means always in first place.

Incidentally I would hope you believe me when I tell you that some corrections are needed in your sentence:

So, I would not advice to deal with any company that is famous of such 'second-to-none' support. This should read: I would not advise you to deal with any company that is famous for such second to none support.

Believe me!!

Alan
