What tense should I use to refer to an event that happen before other in a daily routine sense? Is it correct to use past tense? For instance, "I brush my teeth and go to bed. Before that, I had some snack." Is it correct?

.
It depends on the context. Both of these are correct:

(Every night) I brush my teeth and go to bed. Before that, I have some snack
(Last night) I brushed my teeth and went to bed. Before that, I had some snack.
