Hello to all of my friends. I've had a thought which may help you in your quest to improve your fluency and pronunciation.. I have already posted this idea to my friend Emir, and it occurred to me that others might also find it beneficial.

Perhaps if you were to learn a short poem in English, then you could constantly repeat this to yourself during your spare moments . As you become more familiar with the poem you will be able to say it quicker, and thereby your fluency should improve.

Let me give you a little " tongue twister " to help you on your way.

This is a little ditty that I ask my grand-children to say :-

She sells sea-shells by the sea-shore,
The shells that she sells, are sea-shore shells.

After a week or so your pronunciation of ALL English words should be perfect, along with your fluency. I hope you find this of some use. It certainly should help. If not, it will certainly have you laughing at yourself. Good luck.

Kitosdad.

ps. I really do expect to hear some of your own recordings of this. At least we will all enjoy making fools of ourselves.

That was a good effort Torsten. I would suggest that you now try to do it a little faster. :)

You had a more difficult time there Torsten. Great fun though.

" Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.
Did Peter Piper pick a peck of pickled peppers?
If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers,
where's the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked? "

" I am not the pheasant plucker,
I'm the pheasant plucker's mate.
I am only plucking pheasants
'cause the pheasant plucker's late."

A real killer!

She sells sea-shells by the sea-shore.
The shells that she sells are surely sea-shells.
So if she sells sea-shells on the sea-shore,
Then surely she sells sea-shore shells.

How about:

Evening Andrea. I'm sure there are lots of these on Google. Just something to help our learners get their tongues moving.

Nah, you can't blame this one on Google. We learned it in school because we were to practice the rolling 'r'.
I don't think I manage, even today, to get it really rolling.

I'll have a lot to say about that, but first I have to get the knots out of my tongue.
