Hey Tom,
I really wish I could speak and pronounce English the way you do. I've been listening to your recordings and damn! you sound perfect. I want to be just as good, please help me. |
Hi Jokiks,
Thank you so much for your kind words. I appreciate it a great deal. Please forgive me if I did not pronounce your name correctly.
I have to believe that you speak English better than you think you do. So, I am wondering, when will you post a voice message here in the forum? If you do, I'll be sure to listen to it and respond back.
Thank you again,
Take care,
Tom |

Dear Jafar, are you worry about how subconscious mind does work? I guess that is a mechanical process about to keep apart your first languaje linguistic from your second one -English mechanics, Grammar, etc.- |

Dear Torsten , I've sent a lot of messages and voice recording but nobody cares about them . You told me that I get feedback and suggestions on my accent , intonations and voice as soon as I post my voice messages but as I see there is nothing . I truly wish that you listen to my pronounciation and criticize it . many thanks , Assya. |

Hi Assya,
Sorry you have been neglected. From what you have said in your message I can truthfully say that you have a good and clear pronunciation and your relaxed delivery (way of speaking) makes you very easy to understand.

Hello Assya,
My apologies that no one except Alan and Torsten have gotten back to you. I wanted to take a minute and tell you that I think your voice and English is wonderful. Where did you learn to speak so well?
I understood everything you said. As Alan mentioned, it was very clear and you sound very friendly. How long have you been speaking English?
Keep up the good work Assya!
Take care,
Tom |

Hi Assya,
Well, you've certainly got some fans now from those of us who have commented on your pronunciation. The reason for this appreciation is that you clearly are very keen on getting your speech just right and you would be a good example for others to follow, I believe you have found the secret of being able to speak freely and also sound relaxed at the same time. I'll certainly look forward to hearing from you again. Perhaps you could read one of the short stories aloud that I wrote for people wanting to practise speaking. What do you think?

Hello everybody, I read the text and listen how it sounds in my voice.
A good lesson
Once a rich English woman called Mrs. Johnson decided to have a birthday party. She invited a lot of guests and a singer. The singer was poor, but he had a very good voice.
The singer got to Mrs. Johnson’s house at exactly 6 o’clock as he had been asked to do. But when he went in, he saw through a door that the dining-room was already full of guests. They were eating, joking, laughing and talking loudly. Mrs. Johnson came out to him and said: “We are glad, sir, that you have come. You will be singing after dinner, I’ll call you as soon as we’re ready to listen to you. Now will you go into the kitchen and have dinner, too, please?”
The singer was very angry, but he said nothing. At first he wanted to leave Mrs. Johnson’s house at once, but then he changed his mind and decided to stay and teach her a good lesson.
He went into the kitchen and had dinner with the servants. After dinner, the singer thanked everybody and said: “Well, now I’m going to sing to you, my good friends”. And he sang them some beautiful songs.
Soon Mrs. Johnson called the singer and asked him to sing them. But singer answered her, that he usually sings for those he have dinner with.
That's all. Thanks. |

Hello Mohamed,
Thank you for writing me and posting a message! I really appreciate it. Unfortunately, I am not near my office to give you an actual recorded message, but I promise you that I will once I return.
Your English is rather advanced - both spoken and written. Regarding songs, that's an easy one. If you can, log on to YouTube, www.youtube.com. Type the name of the song into the browser and many links will pop up for you to listen to the song. Most of the time, there is also a link with the lyrics, or words, that go along with the song. It's a great way to understand what they are singing. Give it a try.
As far as movies, you can do a similar thing. Go to YouTube, and type in the movie name along with the words, "Closed Caption." Many times you will have the written words typed at the bottom of the screen. This should work.
Again, thank you for your nice message. I will send you a recording in about a week.
So tell me about you, Mohamed. Where do you live? What do you like to do with your free time?
I look forward to hearing from you!
