Never have students had so many opportunities for a good and comfortable life at a campuses like they have today. In the past students were very poor and had to live on a street with a nickel a day, and comparing this life with todays is almost impossible. Keeping in this train of thought, I would say that students today have (a)more than decent life, and having special wishes would be (seen as being)a little bit spoiled. Nevertheless, today we live in different conditions and even if somebody says that I am spoiled I would prefer to choose my room-mate by myself.
First of all, I want to share a room with somebody who shares my interests. In my opinion, it is very important to be in the room with somebody who understand me and my priorities. This is of (the) utmost importance, because, once at university I would like to study and ( having a ) room-mate who has the same interest as I do can help me to accustom (myself) to a students life, professors and campus rules. For example, (a) good room-mate can help me in studying just (by)exchanging his ideas and views with me.
Secondly, for me it is important not just how my room-mate can help me, but also how he can avoid disturbing me. Most of the time, I study in my room, because I have my(own) method of studying and I need to concentrate. Furthermore, I can study (the) whole day, but, quite often, I make a two or three minutes break. For this reason I can not study, like other students do, at a library, and peace and understanding from my room-mate is necessary for me. If (the) university assigns me a room-mate I would be (forced into)in a position (whereby I have)to share my room with somebody who is completely different from me, and, in (the) worst scenario, with somebody who wants to enjoy student life and not to study. For example, my friend had to leave campus and move into an expensive apartment, just because his room-mate had used (theirs)to organize wild parties. in their room.
In conclusion, I believe that the aforementioned arguments like helpfulness and understanding from my room-mate clearly show why (having the)possibility of choice is important in issues like this one. Needless to say, people should always follow their own heart and choose whatever they (consider)find to be the right choice.
Dragan, another nicely thought-out essay. Very few alterations required. Very well done.
