I found this in wikipedia, so I can't tell how reliable this information is, but according to this table it is certainly 'e'.
Letter ↓ Frequency ↓ A ......... 8.17% B ......... 1.49% C ........ 2.78% D ........ 4.25% E ......... 12.70% F .......... 2.23% G ..... 2.02% H ..... 6.09% I ...... 6.97% J ...... 0.15% K ...... 0.77% L ...... 4.03% M...... 2.41% N ...... 6.75% O...... 7.51% P ...... 1.93% Q ..... 0.10% R ...... 5.99% S ..... 6.33% T ..... 9.06% U...... 2.76% V ...... 0.98% W ...... 2.36% X ...... 0.15% Y ...... 1.97% Z ...... 0.07% _________________ No comment |

Thank you very much for the information, Shyone

PS: I have heard that there's is an essay or story without the letter "E". Do you have any idea? _________________ A person who makes no mistakes does not usually make anything. |

In Arthur Conan Doyle's "The Adventure of the Dancing Men", Holmes says it to Watson. He points out the most frequently appeard "dancing man" as the symbol for "E".
| Quote: |
| The first message submitted to me was so short that it was impossible for me to do more than to say, with some confidence, that the symbol stood for E. As you are aware, E is the most common letter in the English alphabet, and it predominates to so marked an extent that even in a short sentence one would expect to find it most often. Out of fifteen symbols in the first message, four were the same, so it was reasonable to set this down as E. -from The Adventure of the Dancing Men |
By the way, how could the author know that? :) |
