Hi Salam,

I'm afraid you lost me here. I'd need to google the terms to find out what they mean. If you like, you can enlighten me instead.
Thanks,
Torsten

Hello Salam, as Torsten is at a loss, please allow me:-

To carry the can, is to take responsibility for the mistakes of another or others.

The eleventh hour, indicates that the time is running out for a decision to be made.

Poll Tax is a tax that is levied upon the general public irrespective of whether they be rich or poor. The tax is applied to everyone, and it has far greater effect on the poor than the rich.

Bill.
