1) I walked around the house.

Can someone please tell me if it means inside or outside the house? And what about the following cases?

2) I walked around the room.
3) I walked around the restaurant.

It can mean one of two things:

a) "I wandered through the house."
b) "I circled the house (outside)."

"I walked around the room," would probably always mean wandering through the room.
