Bulone, you are omitting the article.

1)"Andrew wrote about the supernatural in his latest book"
2)"Andrew has written of the supernatural in his latest book"

Hello Bulone,
Kitosdad has provided you with some necessary improvements for your two sentences.

You have not provided enough broader context. With just that one sentence, it is not really possible to say that one verb form is correct and the other is not. The use of "in his latest book" suggests that the present perfect (has written) would be appropriate. However, it would also be possible to use the past simple (wrote) in your sentence.

@esl_expert
I'm using this sentence as a a part of conversation on authors. So if I want to talk about latest book of particular author, I should use present perfect. Is that what you mean?

@kitosdad
Are both tenses correct in both situations?

Hi Bulone,

Both forms (present perfect/past simple) are fine in those sentences: He has written about the supernatural in his latest book/He wrote about the supernatural in his latest book.

There is a subtle difference if you really want to look for one. 'Has written' suggests the book is here and we are talking about it now. 'Wrote' suggests that the book isn't here right now and you are referring back to when you first saw/heard of the book.
