I like reading everyone here. But what disturbs me a lot is the way people are discussing the religion thing (this is the first and last reference to the religion in this post ;)).

And my good...there are people here willing to walk at least a few steps away from what can be called as a rigidity. But still I wonder what keeps others so attached to their beliefs. I am not pointing out anything specific here. It is always the nature versus any of the beliefs for me. Again, you would say nature itself is a belief but then we humans cannot see the world as it is.

It is within us that the world has its illusory existence. The reality always eludes us because there is no way we can subtract ourselves from the equation.

Far, far away we have come. Before I travel round the universe (with a hope that the earth would survive this chaos created by we humans ;)), tell me what you think is more beautiful, more novel and more desirable?

And yes, with a smile :)

I second your opinion regarding nature. Religion is distorted.

I third it. Organized religion is the root of all evil.

I'm not saying that believing in something is wrong, but organized religion is all about power, and therefore, as Dimitar states, distorted.

Hi Gray

I think belief is everything, religion is a system of life
Religion is ethics and treatment and not something that can be set aside .
Just because the others misunderstood everything related to the religion..
So without my religion I can't imagine everything beautiful

Thanks everyone for walking a few steps closer to what I had on mind...and not taking the route of 'this versus that'.

Aryam, it's wonderful you are feeling perfectly happy, safe and satisfied with your religion. Congratulations! May I know to whom you pray?

Hello Hassan,

It's great to read your message, too. Where are you from?

Also, please note that 'confidence' is a noun and 'confident' is an adjective.

Let me give you some examples:

His confidence makes him confident.

This could make me self-confident.

Best regards.

I think religion is about thinking forward.

For non-believers, utopia exists now. Their whole existance is to get the most of what they can from this world.

After all, the ones with the most toys win, right? The ones with the most toys win, but they still die.

Hello,

There is no tit for tat or this for that, Gray. It was just a way of discussing things. I personally have no enmity towards anyone here, and I don't think anyone here has that. : o)

I do not think that religion is the root of all evil. All the wars of the 20th Century (the bloodiest in human history) weren't fought because of religion but because of ideologies. Everything has its drawbacks be it atheism or anything else. But do not take the best of one thing and compare it with the worst of the other... Totally unfair. : o)

Thank you for your wonderful words. I always love you cryptic posts. ; o)

Had you read my post more carefully you would know that I never said 'religion is the root of all evil'.

I was talking about organized religion, which in my estimation is a huge difference.

Gray, there is nothing wrong with this versus that. Do not expect people to agree with everything you say. If you do not like religion, you will surely not like discussing it.

So do not judge others on the basis of how-I-see-things.

Always with a smile. : o) Just bear that in mind.

I am sorry, Shyone.

I do agree that those groups are the forces of evil.
