Some people think the best way to solve environmental problems is to raise the price of fuel. To what extent do you agree?
It is commonly deemed that the environment has undergone unprecedented deterioration in this century, which bestowed marked handicaps upon the well-being of the entire human race. While the world is worrying about various environmental problems, some assert that raising the price of fuel can be the best option to address the issue. From my perspective, I agree with this view, but with reservations.
It is manifest that environmental pressure will be eased by exerting higher oil price. In the first place, cars are the main consumers of fuel, which can also create numerous gas fumes. Obviously, owing to lower price of fuel, citizens prefer driving to walking; even it is only 5-minute by foot. Consequently, by dong so, car owners will think twice before leaving home. In the second place, in terms of economies of scale, undeniably, tycoons zero in on how in certain fields are they supposed to maximize their profit. Rather, whether the surrounded eco-system will be undermined; therefore, it is not necessary but obligatory for authorities to make special policies to alleviate constant environmental pressure.
Nonetheless, solely, by rising the price of petroleum is not the effective way to combat with environmental problems. Encouraging households to recycle after sorted can be an alternative way. To illustrate, provided that human beings are not aware of the outcome brought by these problems, it is not an exaggeration to say that all efforts made by the government are in vain- that is to say, it would be better to link diverse special policies with instilling people into widespread knowledge.
To make final analysis, even though shooting up the price of fuel, to some extent, is an effective way to address environmental problems, we cannot ignore the power through the masses. As a saying goes: From little things, big things grow!
