These things are easier explained if you have context. Where did you find it? Was it a part of a sentence? Can you give a full sentence that includes this expression and a few sentences before and after?
If by diaster (a double star) you meant diSaster (a serious difficulty) then, (without any context) it might be a paraphrase of the proverb "A friend in need is a friend endeed." A person who helps you when you are in a predicament is a real friend. A friend in disaster may be a friend who helps when you REALLY need it . (Maybe). _________________ con·text - The part of a text or statement that surrounds a particular word or passage and determines its meaning. |
