HI,
Which one is correct?
OVER 1990s or DURING 1990s
OVER a long time or DURING a long time
And why?!
Many thanks,

I think (I'm not sure as I'm not a native speaker)

you use 'over' for an undefined period of time while you use 'during' for a defined period of time.
