Hi,
1. I will recount the story of how it happened to my boss.
2. I will recount the story how it happened to my boss.
Are both sentences correct? Do they mean the same?
Please enlighten me.
Thanks,

First one is correct.

If you adjust 2nd sentence like "I will recount how it happened to my boss." it will be correct too.

*"how it happened to my boss." this part is noun clause.
