It is generally accepted that a teacher could play an significant role in a student's life, since he does not only teach knowledge, but also tells students how to be a good person, which would influence them a whole life. Some people prefer a teacher with excellent relationship between them, so they gain more passion to work hard. Contrary to this opinion, my feeling is that the knowledge of the subject being taught for a teacher is more important.

Firstly, for a student, nothing is more important than to receive education. As an old saying, knowledge is power. Knowledge is the heritage of civilization, which could enhance the quality of human being in order to becoming powerful. According to a recent report by China Daily, almost 90 percent people prefer to attend college rather to pursue the money. Obviously, a teacher is considered as a crucial element in the development of one's career. A experienced teacher acquaints the situation of students, which would find out the most efficient way to stimulate their interest. More knowledge you have received from a teacher in the college, more possible to succeed in certain field. Thus, the effect of knowledgeable teacher cannot be ignored.

Secondly, a teacher enable you completely concentrate on one special field. There is no doubt that to specialize in one subject is the priority of success. To know everything is to know nothing. For example, Chinese people all know a gentleman, Yuminhong, the president of New Oriental Group, the biggest education corporation in China. He is so called a successful person because his early English major in Beijing University made full preparation for his future success both as a teacher and a president of the biggest education corporation. Only expertises in certain field, chances are that you will get more opportunities in the future. If a teacher who cannot teach special knowledge in one subject, how could they realize their responsibility during teaching?

Of course, relating well with students is also important. A popular teacher could arouse the passion of students for work harder, meanwhile, he poses an excellent example for students to follow. But if all the factors are complicated, the advantage of teaching special knowledge carry more weight than those of good relationship with students.
