Meaning of "live copy commercial"

The following passage is from a posting on a web forum:While working the overnight show, Somers used to,listening to caller after caller explain how happy they were to speak to their own "Captain Midnight," call out the identification letter and number combinations for each of the live copy commercials with that same phrase - "That's LV5829 for those of you scoring at home, or if you're alone."
My question is,what is 'live copy commercial'?
By the way,what is the meaning of 'those of you scoring at home'?

A live copy commercial is one in which the radio host reads live from the advertising copy (i.e., the advertising text). In other words, it is not a recorded commercial.

I think that to know what "scoring at home" meant, you would have to know something specific about the radio show and what was going on. There's not enough context to know. People are keeping score at home for some reason, but it's not clear why.
