Where(relative adverb) #1 (permalink) Mon Jun 15, 2009 14:49 pm   Where(relative adverb)

"The part of the story I enjoyed most was where the heroine decided to revenge herself on her enemy."

↑In this sentence, I am wondering if the "where" (relative adverb) can be replaced with "that" ? If NOT, please explain. Thanks!!

Hello, I'm The French,I'm not a teacher, but "Where" is an adverb for place but "That" is relative pronoun.

When you put where you talk about the place where the heroine revenge (perhaps that place is appears before in your text).

If you put that you replace something or someone.

I prefer "when" if you talk about the moment of the revenge.

I hope it's help you a little.

Have a nice day.
