How do I use these properly? If I'm talking to someone and the persons asks me if I'm joining the party, can I say that I'm coming? Or is it more appropriate to say I'm going?

Ricomb. either is OK.

You can say, " I will be coming to the party. or
" I will be going to the party."

The first would be in response to the question, " Are you coming to the party?"
The second would be in response to the question, " Are you going to the party?"
