EH, when sliced bread first was first introduced it was hailed as almost a miracle. No more cutting of loaves of different textures, and different thicknesses of slices. It was hailed countrywide as a Godsend by busy housewives, and sandwich-makers.

Ever since those days anything that has taken the public's interest has been described as " the best thing since sliced-bread." :) :)
