TOEFL essay writing: About the receptionist #1 (permalink) Fri Jun 19, 2009 7:19 am   TOEFL essay writing: About the receptionist

Nowadays, when job’s system increase rapidly all over the world, people themselves can work at variety of positions in a company. However, I totally deem that the receptionist should have been concerned to be an image of that company since they make the customer’s first impression to their company. Consequently, this kind of job also contains itself both advantages and disadvantages as follows.

At a first glance about advantages, through being receptionists, they can develop efficiently their soft skills as meeting lots of people, in term of creating their first impression and soft vocal whenever they answer the phone. Further more, to response the vast number of questions from their company’s guests, they must have their fundamental knowledge of company, and thus provide themselves information and experience working. For instance, the receptionists, when being asked a question about their company, especially its major and fees, etc, have to offer a clear and convincing explanations in order to engage the customers. Besides, whenever the hotel receptionists check rooms, they have to know exactly where these guests should stay in response to the room’s fee and facilities. As the result, they promote their faculty of experience to step up their ability dealing with different types of people and thus help them to achieve the calm personality.

Apart from the advantages, the receptionists also come out its negative aspects. Firstly, it is owing to its inflexible time that you are stationed at one place and not allow to go out with your friends to enjoy the youth’s activities. Last but not least, it is claimed to be a boring jobs as doing the consistent work, regular hours. This explains how this job is so called the changeable job because of numbers of their in and out staffs.

In conclusion, as far as i am concerned, I would say this kind of job has its advantages more than disadvantages. It is very valuable for graduate student to come up with what is called experiences and carry them through their future succession.
