Hi there!
Please have a look at these sentences:
1. My father doesn't like any kind of changed. He's very ... in his ways.
A.set
B.fixed
2. I think we ought to see the rest of the exhibition as quickly as we can, ... that it closes in half an hour.
A.granted
B.given
3.He's been teaching English for years, but he hasn't any ...
A.experience
B.experiences
C.qualifications
4.His speech was careful and ... but his words seemed to make no sense.
A.distinct
B.distinctive

Actually, I'm going to take a very important English exam and these sentences really puzzled me. I would be glad if anyone could help me with these.

1a (Set - opinions/habits etc. not likely to change: Mark was 65 and rather set in his ways (=habits).,

2b (given -taking something into account: Given the circumstances, you've done really well. given that Given that the patients have some disabilities, we still try to enable them to be as independent as possible.),

3c (qualification - if you have a qualification, you have passed an examination or course to show you have a particular level of skill or knowledge in a subject),

4a distinct- something that is distinct can clearly be seen, heard, smelled etc: The outline of the ship became more distinct.).
