Hi Nik,
How much American English can I learn by listening to celebrities (as you call them) like Rihanna and Lady Gaga? Also, would you say that it's cool to speak the same way as people like Rihanna or Lady Gaga sing? _________________ Test Of English for International Communication TOEIC Preparation & TOEIC Vocabulary |

It's better to listen to Robbie Williams or to Brian Adams, isn't it? Generally, I think it's useless to learn English basing on Celebrities as they are from different nationalities, or from mixed nationalities, they have different accents. It just helps to expand our vocabulary. _________________ incomplete.... |

| Of course it helps to learn from people with different accents. Accents can be pretty difficult to understand sometimes... Have you ever talked to someone from the deep south of the USA or a Polynesian? They definitely can be hard to understand. The more variations of the English language you get familiar with the more complete speaker you will be. I agree though, listening to singing is not the best way to pick up the actual accent. But there is a lot more at http://www.CoolAmericanEnglish.com to help with that. The American accent section and the Kobe Bryant and Lebron James videos give good examples of real American speech. |

Hi Nic, How are you? I hope you are doing well. Will U be my instructor for the American English (that includes spelling & the usage) + the American accent? I will appreciate it very much. I come from a poor country, NEPAL. I am male, 30 years old, single dad. And this, you won't believe me but it's a fact, there's a 16-hour of load Shedding everyday (I don't know when this stuff will be resolved). Because of this, I don't get much access to the Internet. I am sure that you will understand my probs.. Thank you very much for your help & support.
With warm regards Noren Lee (NEPAL)

PS: I always follow the American Authors. And, I must say to you that I have read and practiced (not practised) 35 percent (not "per cent") of all the English learning books by Norman Lewis. I go straight just to name a few: check, tire, gas, liscense, center, color, & your favor.. _________________ A person who makes no mistakes does not usually make anything. |
