My name is Richard and I teach ESL and Linguistics at a California Community College. I stumbled upon this website and found the forum very interesting. I'm going to be dropping by now and again to see what you are talking about, and if I can add anything constructive to the conversation, I definitely will. Looking forward to meeting you.

Hi, Richard!
Nice to meet you. If you want, I will be pleased to communicate with you on this forum. My name is Yuri and I am from Russia. I've been here ( I meen this website) since April and find it very usefull for improving my English. I am not too young (47) but I think that there is no boundaries for learning. By the way I graduated from the Irkutsk linguistic university only a year ago. Of course, younger people get linguistic skills much easier, as my son, for example, who studyes at the same university and speaks English much better than me. But hard work helps me to achieve some progress. While studying at the university I worked at school and it was my 'second university'. I love to teach my pupils and, sometimes, it seems to me that schoolchildren are much easier to deal with than adults. Would you mind telling me more about yourself?

Best regards,

Yuri.

Yuri, your writing is terrific! I've been teaching ESL since 1972, primarily to adults on the college level. I most enjoy teacing grammar but have taught reading, writing and pronunciation. I have recently developed some linguistics classes at our college and teach them online. I'd like to do more with online teaching in the future. I've always wanted to be a teacher and after so many years, still love this profession. It's very nice to meet you.
