Hi,
'There's no point in doing something' suggests that it is a waste of time trying to do something as in: There's no point in trying to persuade her that she's made a mistake because she won't listen to anything you say.

She might get a cold... It is possible that she will have one. She might have got a cold (British English) / She might have gotten a cold (American English) ... But she didn't get one. _________________ Cheers m' dears! |

She has got a cold' - she definitely has one now. She might have got/gotten a cold. - she might have got one (if she did something, went somewhere, etc.) She might have a cold. - she possibly has one now but we aren't sure. _________________ Cheers m' dears! |
