Oral messages: I am listening different exercises and I can catch many ideas... #1 (permalink) Fri Jun 26, 2009 0:49 am   Oral messages: I am listening different exercises and I can catch many ideas...

Hello Torsten!

I am happy because my progress in English listening is evident. I am listening different exercises and I can catch many ideas, I am understanding the general idea. But I continue with the problem that my level of speaking is low. Many persons say me that I have problems with my accent. I do not understand in what sense is this observation. How I can improve this?. Are exercises or sections where can I speak with native people in this course? I also ask you that all message or suggestions that you send us will be in recorded voice. I think it will help more to us.

Thanks in advance
Toņis

Hello Tonis, I shouldn't take a lot of notice to what some people say in regard to your accent. This subject attracts more comments than it deserves. I would suggest that you do not waste your precious time trying to change your accent. Far better to concentrate of speaking clearly.
If I were to try to speak another language, the last thing I would try to change would be my accent.

Kitos.
