Hi all,
What do you make of the English that is spoken all over the world? US vs UK vs Canada vs Australia vs India vs some nations' English (first or second language). I don't think the pronunciation, spelling, structure aside from others are, to some extent, the same. There is a vast difference, Americans say/ write "tire for tyre", "check for cheque", "gas for accelerator", or "license (both noun & verb)", omission of "U" in words like "color, neighbor, favor, (many many more). The Indians (Asia) say "brinjal", US "egg plant", UK "aubergine" for the same thing. There are tons of Hollywood-made movies (people say ENGLISH), and what about the movies created in the UK or Australia & other English speaking countries etc. It's just a little touch on the surface. Which one is the right English? Is it the combination of English from all over the world?? Attn: (especially or specially) PURISTS, what do you say regarding this issue?? Thanks.

Hi,

You have to remember that it is the same language and all the differences are variations. There is no 'right' version. The version you like is the one that matters
