TOEFL essay: Is it better to travel with a tour gude #1 (permalink) Sun Jun 28, 2009 17:16 pm   TOEFL essay: Is it better to travel with a tour gude

Should we travel with a tour guide? A tour guide will tell you where you should go, history of the place you go and even make plan for your tour. But you have to paid money for her/him, also you don’t have chance to discover things by your seft, and do not have chance to get to know local people as well. Since I am kind of spontaneous people, I prefer traveling without a tour guide
When I travel, my first goal is that I want to discorver new place, see the new thing by my self. I want to see something special, do somthing differently. Each place has it own culture, imagine how wonderful it is if you see a small wood bridge in a small stream that no other visitor know. Being with a tour guide, you will follow his/her schedule, you will go to same place that other one go, see same thing other one see.
More over, hiding a tour guide costs money. I don’t want to pay money for some one doing something that I can do by myself. I find a lot of fun when I make plan for my tour, asking people how I will get there, how much the room in the hotel cost. Traveling costs a lot of money, I always try my best to save as much as I can
And the most important reason is that traveling without a guide will give me more chance to talk to the people living in the place I come. As I make conversation with them, I can find out about their characteristic, their life style, their custom. Having a tour guide, I don’t have to take care of anything. I have my tour guide tell me where to go and how to get there, I will have less chance to take to local people.
A tour guide definitely will help you avoid a lot of trouble when traveling in a new place that you have never been. But to me, discorvering it by my self brings out a lot of surprising and intersting things. That is why I will not hide a tour guide and from that, I can save money for other expense

Should we travel with a tour guide?

A tour guide will tell you where you should go, (the)history of the place(s) (where) you go, and even make (a) plan for your tour. But you have to (pay) money for her/him, also you don’t have chance to discover things by (yourself), and do not have chance to get to know local people as well. Since I am (a) kind of spontaneous (person), I prefer travelling without a tour guide.

When I travel, my first goal is that I want to (discover) new place(s), (and) see new thing(s) by (myself). I want to see something special, (and) do ( something different). Each place has it own culture. (I)magine how wonderful it is if you see a small wood bridge (across) a small stream that no other visitor(s) know. Being with a tour guide, you will follow his/her schedule, you will go to (the) same place(s) that other(s) go, (and) see (the) same thing(s) (that) other(s) see.

(Moreover), hi(r)ing a tour guide costs money. I don’t want to pay money for (someone) doing something that I can do by myself. I find a lot of fun when I make plan(s) for my tour, asking people how I will get there, how much the room in the hotel cost(s).
Traveling costs a lot of money, I always try my best to save as much as I can,(a)nd the most important reason is that travelling without a guide will give me(a better) chance to talk to the people living in the place.
As I make conversation with them, I can find out about their characteristic(s), their life style, their custom(s).
Having a tour guide, I don’t have to take care of anything. I have my tour guide tell me where to go and how to get there, I will have less chance to ta(lk) to local people.
A tour guide definitely will help you avoid a lot of trouble when travelling in a new place that you have never been (to before), (b)ut to me, (discovering) it by (myself) brings out a lot of surprising and (interesting) things.
That is why I will not hi(r)e a tour guide and (by not doing so), I can save money for other expense(s).

" Now I realize that I have made a lot of mistake "

Good morning. Indeed you have, but the mistakes you have made are really only minor when viewed against how good your little essay was.

You made some very good points and your intelligence shone through.

Don't be disheartened. I'm sure your next essay will be even better.

Kitos.
