Hi, NikJames!
You've put you answer, which is fine, but please reread my request:
" ... But please don't put another question unless after the previous one is fully covered (at least 8 answers or so.)"

The longest word in any of the major English language dictionaries is pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis, a word which refers to a lung disease contracted from the inhalation of very fine silica particles, specifically from a volcano.

If it is longer than yours or anyone else's, it must be "longest" ;) _________________ First lesson - English, not english. I, not i. ~A student of English |

Hello Iraqui! I don't think that there is an other word longer than a 45 letters word (suggested by Nbviany). I am sure that your answer is funnier than the question (Tell me please I won't tell anybody!:)) |

Hi Iraqi,
I'd like to nominate the word "smiles" as the longest word. :D  :D

| And I'd like to say that you are correct. "Smiles" is the longest word, but can anyone (other than Esl Expert) explain that? :-) |
