Hi, Torsten I believe the conversation is not difficult but there are difficult terms such as "oblivion". I missed that question due to lack of understanding of this word. Regarding the speed of conversation was okay. I think I need to work more on my vocabulary bank. |

| Hi. Could you explain this phrase, please: ''Not if you can help it, certainly!'' and why it's indicating that Henry thinks the professor considers teaching Old English important. Thanks. |

You have to look at it in combination with what the Professor said prior to it.
Professor: Saving ninety minutes is not going to commit Old and Middle English to total oblivion, after all. Henry: (laughs) Not if you can help it, certainly!
Henry is saying that the Professor is so passionate about Old English, that he will ensure it is not sent to oblivion. _________________ Cheers m' dears! |
