Hello, there is something I don't understand about the conjugation of this sentences. I always misused them. I would like you to correct me.
(A) 1. Have you eat already? 2. Have you eaten already?

(B) 1. What have you do? 2. What have you done?

Thank you !
Omario

Hi Omario,

The sentences 'Have you eat already' and 'What have you do' are wrong. Where and how did you learn them? As for your other question about Scotland being part of Great Britain -- that was the entire idea. If the Scottish player wins then the rest of Great Britain will want him to be British. If he doesn't win the rest of the British people will want to stress the fact that he actually is Scottish rather than British.

Maybe Alan can explain this better....

Hi,

'Not my bag' is slang for 'not what I'm really interested in' and 'that's my bag' means something I like very much. If I say: Sport isn't really my bag, it means I'm not really interested in sport. If I say: Classical music is my bag, it means I'm really interested in and like listening to classical music.
I suppose it's the idea of a bag carrying something which you take with you if you like it and don't carry with you if don't like it.

Alan: Excellent work your English Grammar through Stories! I just got it! you must continue teaching with lessons and audio files, maybe video files too, in courses for us to improve our english knowledge. I hope now to read the book and incorporate this nice new material in my mind. Congratulations! it is a pity having so little time to study, but something is something. Best wishes,

Hello Alan professior

Thank you for the essay 'Tennis anyone' that the programme sent to me. It contains useful information about sport, especially tennis. In Vietnam, tennis has developed proffessionally for three years and most Vietnamese tennis players have competed in Asian tennis championships.
Sport in general and tennis in particular is very helpful to health. It makes your bones solid, controls the fat of your body, help you to sleep well... In my opinion, however, swimming is the most popular sport because it suits every ages and it brings to you wonderful feelings when you are under the water.

Regards,
Thu

Hello Alan!
That essay is very good! I also like tennis, it's cool sport really.
About the player I think that it's a little selfish about the win.

I wonder why Andy Murray will be admitted as an English player only in case if he wins the championship, what's the difference between Scottish and British people?

Hello,

Thanks Allen for your helpful essay. To be honest, sports in gerneral are not my favorite bag. However, I watch the Olympics' Games when I feel I like to. That's because I think it is fun to watch athletes while they are competing and win the champion. Such thing give the person the motivation to go forward not only in sports if he/she are not interested in them but in whole entire life. :)

Thanks,
Meera

Tennis is for somebody whose bone is strong and has got excellant stamina . Asians by default are short, less staminate and not strong physically,,,we have to think more about it

Hi Alan,

Thank you for your essay. It was great as usual.

Sport WAS my bag and there was time when I was very physically active. I was a rather good runner, I could cover long distances riding a bycicle, I was fond of hunting and fishing and it was connected with walking very long distances too.

Maybe I was too active and maybe that's why I got probs with my backbone. But sport still Is my bag and I participate in competition in chess and in Russian draughts (they are like American chechers but with a little bit different rules). And I am fond of watching sport events, especially football and tennis.

As for Andy Murray I wish he became the British for everybody as soon as possible:)

Regards.

Yuri

Hi Alan,
I´m not precisaly a sports fan either, but I enjoy the Wimbledon Championships, specially the finals. Your essay reminds me the film "Wimbledon", where Peter Colt was almost destroyed by the critics. They were very cruels with him.

Hi,
I know that Wimbledon was many months ago, but I have received this essay just few weeks ago. It was short, but interesting. I'm from Serbia, and tennis is very popular here in last couple of years. I think it is even more popular than football or basketball. In Serbia the most popular sports are those in which we have sucessfull players. For example, this year our two swimmers won a few championships and make some new world and european records. And now every kid wants to train swimming. That was the case a year ago when Ana Ivanovic was world no.1 in tennis. All girls strarted to play tennis, and all playgrounds in parks that were made for basketball or football were changed into tennis courts by the children (they would just draw the lines for tennis court and put the web in the middle). Since the Serbian tennis players are not that succesful any more, I wonder if the children would start to dig hols in their hand made tennis courts in order to make a swimmingpolls.

p.s. Hi Alan. This is one of my first posts here. If wonder if you could made a comment on it. Thank you. I appreciate your work on this website.
