Speaking problems: difficult to start and answer a question from foreign people #1 (permalink) Mon Jul 06, 2009 7:15 am   Speaking problems: difficult to start and answer a question from foreign people

Hello all,

I’ve taken an English training program for a year.

But I’ve problem on speaking.
It’s very difficult to start and answer a question from foreign people when I interviewed for a job.

What should I do?

Thanks for the answers.

Good morning Rosario. Learning to read and write in English are both far easier than talking. Many non-natives stumble over this hurdle, and nobody can claim it is easy.
All you can do is talk to yourself as often as you can. Read aloud from books and magazines. When you feel more confident then post a few voice recordings here and await comments.

Hello Kitosdad,

I am going to try your advice from now besides watch English movie everyday for each scene until I accustom with the phrases, then move to the next scene etc.

I hope those methods will help me.

Thanks.

Hi Rosario

The problem of speaking English go through the scope of practice; I mean once you try to speak to yourself or record your voice; from here you will increase your speaking skill also imagine your self given for exemple a speech; and by the time you will feel confident with your speaking...
Good luck.

It's always almost difficult to speak English or other language if you are thinking in your native language. It takes time to start thinking in the other language. I like riddles and if the person I tell the riddle to try to translate it into his native language it goes wrong. For example "Which four letters frighten robbers ?"

I've this problem too. speaking is different than writing. To write a text, for instance, we havo more time to think and organize the ideas, so speaking is different, you are obligated to think and speak at that time. sometimes you get confused.
