how would you say the opposite of "overdue"? "on time" sounds ok?

It depends on what you're talking about. If it's a baby, the opposite would be premature.

If it's a book, bill, etc. then I'd say 'early'.

Could you provide a specific example, so we can give you some better options?

Thanks for your help. I believe "early" is the correct option. The situation is a project, I wanted to define that the person still have more time to finish, meaning not overdue yet.

Other phrases you might consider would be 'ahead of time/schedule' or 'before the deadline'.
