My name is Marilyn Barnes, and I was born in November, 1992, in Juarez, Mexico. In our family made up of my mother, father, and a brother. All of us emigrated to the United States to live in Diana, Texas when I was nine years old. After we reside in Diana, Texas for two years, then we moved to Austin, Texas where my father got job in a factory. From my earliest days, I knew that my parents had to struggle for every penny to buy us a house.

My father is tall, strong, and hard worker. My mother is short, light-skin, and a house wife. I also have a older brother that I love so much, he is giving, supportive, loyal, and loving person. Our first house which was near to school, was a big stone house, with rockwalls. It had a big front porch with a swing. I was attending Johnson High School, and I was able to walk home. The neighbourhood I lived in was a very quiet area.

I remember these people in my neighbourhood were nice and friendly. My childhood friends like to play catch and hide and seek. We all usually like to go and play in a construction area. There were many bricks and stones around for us to hide. Unfortunately, we all stop going there when one of us, a boy, slipped and fell into a hole. Finally, as I look back on the last couple of years of my life I realized that with growing up comes a lot of responsisbilities and things that I would Have never imagined as a young child.
