Idioms and phrases are expressions which have gained special meaning.
'What cannot be cured, must be endured' generally means that a person should endure the sufferings when he has no way to get out of the problem. Let us take cancer. It has no cure. So a cancer patient has to endure it. Even like that in mundane life some problems may arise which one has to go through e.g: getting our clothes soiled on a rainy day when going for work.
What the eyes doesn`t see,the heart doesn`t grieve over. If you do not come into direct contact with any bad thing, such a disaster or evil may not make you suffer or even affect you much. You may hear about a fatal plane crash that might have taken the lives of hundreds of people. This may not affect you as much as your son falling down from a tricycle and getting scratches.
When in Rome,do as the Romans do. There are so many different societies that follow cultures very different from ours. So when you are in a group which has different values on good and bad, follow those for your own good.
Rome was not built in one day Anything is achieved only through hard work, planning and perseverance. There is no Alladin's lamp to get what one wishes. Only hard work and proper planning can get things done. Best of luck. nanucbe

Actually, this still has a certain ring of truth to it, despite the typo!

In fact, I think I like it better than the original...

''Rome was not built in one day. '' means 'Be patient! Don't be in a hurry , serious work needs some time to be done''. In Armenia such an expression also exists and we use this idiom, if somebody is impatient and we want to help them giving some hope.
