1 .I have written him just a letter up to this time
2. I shall telephone you on his return.
3. It started raining while we were playing tennis.
4. I hear the strange noise. (You reported) Otherwise 'I hear a strange noise.' (Hear, remember and some such words are not used in the present particle form. You either hear or don’t; the same with remember.)
5. If you start immediately (now), you will arrive (there) by six o’clock. (The word ‘arrive’ requires a place)
6. He has just gone out.
7. He fell asleep driving.
