When moving to another country, some people decide to follow the customs of the new country when other prefer to keep their own customs. Compare these two choices. Which do you prefer. Support your answer with specific detail When moving to another country, should we follow the customs of the new country, or should we keep our own customs. This is such a hard question, but I think we should spend time wondering which is the reasonable customs that we should follow and which appropriate customs that we should keep. Because following some customs of the new country will help you adapt to the new life more easily, while keep some customs of your old country, which has always been a apart of your life, will make you feel pleasant.
Following the customs of the place where you move in will be the best way for you to learn more about the living as well as people there. Like when you come to Brazil, you should not miss the festivals, when you have the chances to see the culture and lifestyle of the people here. You will find out that they belong to the hot dancing like famous drumba. When you come to Asia, you should visit pagodas to see how they express their spiritual life. These knowledge will help you understand more about the people who are living around you and might be your friend in the very near future. Moreover, each country has its own weather, culture and condition, definitely there are some good reasons for people there to built up those customs. You should find some of those to follow to help yourself get used with the new life. The more you get to know it, the more you find it interesting and attractive.
Nevertheless, keeping some appropriate customs of your old country will make you more comfortable dealing with changes in your new life. For example you was living in Vietnam, where they celebrate new year in Tet following Lunar calendar. But when you move to NewYork, people have New Year Eve following international calendar. Besides enjoying the happy moment together with your new friends in New Year Eve, you also can hold a party in Tet with some traditional food to help your friend undertand more about your country. That will make you so happy to have the “being at home” feeling in NewYork.
Living in a new country is very difficult for any one of us because we have to face some problems of cultural differences, but getting involved in customs in new country will bring you a lot of interesting surprises. But do not forget that your culture, your custom is something that best describe who you are. Keeping your own appropriate customs will enhance your personality.
Please tell me if I answered the question in a right way? Any comment would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance |

Hi Kitos,
please edit my point of view in this essay - Thanks
According to me we should follow the new country’s customs as we are settling there for our livelihood. It will be difficult to get accustomed to other country with different people, culture & traditions. When we are moving to other country it is our gratitude to follow other country’s customs as it shows our appropriate personality.
We can’t change certain customs as it is our part of our life and may help us to share our customs.
Before we move to the other country we should study about the country well like people, customs, culture so that we can adapt our self. It will also be interesting as we’ll be learning new language; we’ll get to know other people well, exchange our customs to each other. Our lifestyle, food etc will also change. |
