Hi,

I've noticed people using in the bus or sometimes on the bus. which one is correct. Does the same one (in or or) apply for all types of transport?

Thanks

Hi Zubayer,

This is really a question of meaning. If you are on the bus, it would indicate that you are travelling by bus. If you are in the bus, it would show that you are inside the bus. For example:

She was on the bus when the accident took place and was slightly injured.

He was in the bus during the storm and so didn't get wet.

This would apply to other types of public transport. Of course with smaller types of transport such as car or taxi, you would be limited to saying inthe car/taxi

Hope this helps

Alan
