We as humans position ourselves at the top of natural hierarchy and some of us seldom give any concentration on other creatures such as animals. As for me, I strongly agree with the statement that observing and studying animals helps to understand human natures, because of which could inspire people in technical ways, help us as subjects in scientific researches, and make humans cherish valuable qualities of animals.
First of all, observing and studying animals gives people inspirations; thus helps to advance in technical ways, which is solidly supported by abundant related applications in bionics. Cat's eye reflectors were invented by Percy Shaw in 1935 after studying the mechanism of cat eyes. The wing structure of blue morpho butterfly was studied and then the way it reflects light was mimicked to create an RFID tag that can be read through water and on metal. Scientists developed the marine searching skills-- using sonar Tec knowledge-- after studying the bat. The examples as such are numerous. Obviously, observing and studying animals enhances technical development; thus offering people better understanding of human nature.
In addition, animals are widely used as subjects in humans' various researches. My mother is an expert in molecular biology and she does many experiments every day to prove their scientific hypothesis true by using white mice, cavies, and rabbits. And all too often we observe that researchers are finding answers to the symptoms which humans are still suffering from. As they have difficulties in using humans directly, they are trying to figure them out using animals. Without their help, even though this help is not volunteered by them, how can humans gain one after another outstanding achievement in various aspects?
Finally, I always believe that animals have feeling and emotions, and some moving stories we see among them and between humans and animals even make us keep thinking about life. Some dogs sacrifice lives to save their owners; spiders reweave their web patiently every time it is broken by storm or predators; birds will become anxious and aggressive when their offspring are in danger. Through observing and studying them, people understand life deeply and comprehensively.
To sum up, to watch and learn animals is actually necessary and benefits humans in many aspects. Thereby, I am convinced observing and studying animals does help to understand human nature.
