Dear teacher!

I have a question about the right word which I can use to describe a museum exhibit. It's an apron with embroidery of a pair of compasses and a geometrical instrument -a try-square. Is it a try-square or bevel or back square? In my dictionary of masonic simbols I've found the symbolic meaning of this try-square " a set set of rules or moral norms".

Thank you in advance.

In freemasonry, it's just called a 'square'.
