Hi Anupumh,
The article is not needed here because 'trainer' describes 'position', which already has the definite article 'the'. You might like to look at some material I've written on the articles. http://www.english-test.net/lessons/16/index.html

Why can we put the article (a) because (trainer ) is a singular???
I studied that If the noun is singular we must put 9a) e.g. (a boy) If the noun is plural we must put (the) e.g. ( the girls) _________________ live quite life |

Hi,
That's exactly the same as 'position of trainer' - no article is needed here with 'doctor'.
