The blind man was in an exceptionally good mood that day.
He'd met a girl who had no objection to his being blind.

She had actually approached him and asked if he would like a cup of coffee.
He was surprised, as most people usually avoided him like a bad smell.

Blind people do seem to have that effect on sighted people.
He had often wanted to shout out, "Hey, I'm blind, not a bloody leper," but he never had done so.
Yes, people were very careful and polite around blind people.

Take that foreign woman who had insisted on helping him cross over the busy road. He'd just spent the last ten minutes getting to this side and then she'd taken him back across.

And that other idiot with his SMS machine. He'd nearly been ran over when he thought they were the peeps indicating that it was safe to cross the road!
Talk about a close shave! Hadn't these bloody fools any sense?.

Anyway, no point being cross today, he was on his way to meet Jenny, the girl who had invited him to coffee.
He really had no idea what she looked like, but her voice had sounded beautiful to him, or was that only because she was the first girl who had ever shown any interest in him? He neither knew, nor cared.
He was elated to be meeting a girl for coffee.
Who knew what it might lead to.

He almost had a terrible accident on the way to the cafe.
The council had built new ramps on the walkways and he hadn't heard about this.
He almost fell up the ramp, and at the other end he ran down the exit ramp.
Bloody invalids, they get all of the consideration from the council!

Finally he arrived and she was sitting outside the cafe at a small table for two.
He sat down and she served him coffee. They got along very well and both seemed to have lots to say.
He'd never met a girl like Jenny before. She really didn't mention his blindness even once, and he was beginning to wonder if she realised that he was blind.

He thought he had better show some initiative and asked if he could touch her face.
She shyly agreed and he was amazed to feel tears running freely down her cheeks.

He was afraid that he had alarmed her and apologised profusely, but she said it was no fault of his, she was just so happy to be spending such a lovely day with such a lovely person.

After they had drank their coffee he called for the waiter with the intention of paying the bill.
She assured him that the coffee didn't have to be paid for.
It happened that she had went to school with the son of the cafe owner, and she never had to pay. She also hinted that her own Mother was in a relationship with this boy's Father, so this was another reason she had never had to pay.

He walked her to her home and they talked endlessly.
She never seemed to tire of talking and he just loved the sound of her voice.
When they arrived at her home she said she had a confession to make.

"My name is Jenny Bianco," she said.
"Hey, that's the name of that cafe owner, you said you knew his son."
"I do, he's my Brother," she laughed.
"But you also said your Mother was in a relationship with his Father."
"She is, she's his wife." She laughed again.
"And what's your secret then?," he asked.
"I'm partially sighted, so I can see for the both of us, that is if you want a girl-friend," she murmured.
He had never been happier in the whole of his life.

Good morning Bill.

"The evening-class teacher" can be a substitute for "Rose" with nearly zero effort Smile

Good morning Gray, but no useful purpose would be served in doing so.

Anyway, I think this theme could produce an entertaining essay.

Let's see what Icy can do with it................ so many possibilities come to mind. Smile Smile
