Children should help with tasks around the house from very young age. #1 (permalink) Fri Aug 07, 2009 3:13 am   Children should help with tasks around the house from very young age.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Children should help with tasks around the house from very young age.

Any suggestion is greatly appreciated. Thanks :P

Children are very curious, and as a result, they themselves would like to participate in some of the daily activities or tasks done at home by mom or dad. It is a good idea to introduce children to simple tasks from an early age, and increase them as they grow older. In my opinion, children should help around the house. There are important knowledge and skills that can be learn, which will provide them with a better understanding of work later in life.

Child abuse is one of the main concern in society these days, and it is of vital importance to keep children safe of abuse. In some countries like Canada, it is illegal for young children to work. Sixteen is the minimum age for a person to start working otherwise is seen as underage workers or child abuse. These may result on legal action taken toward the parents. That's why parents should know when is the right time for them to start including their children in the work around the home.

On the other hand, giving household tasks to children lays the foundation that prepares them for life. It teaches them that in order to earn money they have to work. Parents should start giving task to their children from the age of 5 with simple task like tidying up their toys or putting them away. Later on as the he/she gets older more important tasks can be given. For instance, setting up the dinner table or simply putting the dishes away. Now when the children are teenagers they can be challenge to more important work. Regardless of their gender, like trying out easier and simpler recipes. By teaching your kids how to cook you are teaching them how to eat healthier. As a result, once they live on their own, they would prefer to cook themselves rather than eating out.

In other words, house hold task have undoubtedly many benefits of which parents can gain gratification as they realize that their work has pay off. Simple and easy jobs for younger kids will give them the self confidence they need to succeed. Other jobs for older children will provide them with different knowledges. For example, they will learn to cook, clean, to be tidy, etc. These will also be a favorable point when they get married.

As usual, a good sensible essay Yamilet. I did think the last paragraph was not necessary.
